The brief for this project was to increase occupancy from a 1-bed to 2-bed ground floor flat, whilst enlarging the kitchen and dining area and to better connect it with the garden area. The solution included to extend sidewards and rearwards, including a lightwell to retain daylight and views to the rear bedroom, and to convert the front living area to a bedroom so the living area could move towards the open plan rear.
